Press Room Automaton

		This product is currently in suspension, pending its conversion to the Linux platform. This is being done for cost and infrastructure reasons. The reworked system will have similar functionality as listed below, but the clients will be browser based, so there is no need to specifically install Windows workstations in the pressroom. However, that does not forestall their use with Windows PCs either. Overview		If you have networked PCs in your press room and a Server available, then you are ready to manage your press room with the Press Room Automaton(TM) The PRA will manage your print jobs, schedule them to available presses, and collect real time operating information for jobs currently on press. While monitoring the presses the PRA will also collect quality and maintenance data. So you can track web breaks, cracked plates, paper & ink vendors against press and crew. Wondered if it was the press or the crew that always broke the second unit top plates? The PRA will compile the data for you to answer that question!

Capabilities		Store print job information, and schedule from it
		The PRA has the ability to store print jobs in its database. Using configuration data, such as press speed and manning, the PRA will create schedules to operate the press room by, and will transmit the scheduled job to the desired press, including any prepress data previously collected. Include scanned images thumbnails during prepress, and you can force the issue with the pressmen to make sure they print what you want when you want it!
		Collect data to bill by
		Need to bill for time on press, or materials used during printing? The PRA can expedite the process by allowing your crew members to associate materials used during a job to the job, as it is used. No more revisionist history at the end of the shift!
		Control your costs
		Ever wonder what your true cost per thousand impressions was? The PRA will allow you to set crew rates, personnel rates and machine rates. With this you can associate costs to individual jobs, and see in real time when you have broken even, and actually accumulating profit!
		Indisputable Quality Control
		After you have configured the system to reflect your work practices and coding system, you can start to collect operational data about how your press room really runs. Downtime can be permanently recorded against one or multiple causes. The system can be configured such that any time a press reaches 0 impressions per minute, a cause must be selected, or the end of job report cannot be released.
