| RFC - 2389 Implementation in FTPCOM |
| Command Summary | FTPCOM has been coded to support the following functions that were defined in the feature negotiation mechanism IETF RFC-2389 |
|
| Command | Title | Description | Comments | ||
| FEAT | FEATURE | Allows the client to discover which optional commands the remote server supports | Fully implemented | ||
| OPTS | OPTIONS | Allows the client to specify the desired behavior of a command listed by the FEAT command, if alternate behaviors are provided. | Not yet implemented |
| Note that full FEAT command implementation is dependent upon the commands returned by the FEAT command. The main purpose of our deployment of the FEAT command is to see if any of the FTP Security Extensions are supported by the remote server. This may in in turn modify the client's behavior in the sequence of commands that need to be issued. Otherwise, the FEAT command becomes a "nice to know" service, not providing much additional functionality. | ||
